22-30

22.) Beowulf's name could mean a couple things it could mean (be-wolf) or (bee-hunter) which is a keening for "bear."

23.) Lines 120 to 125 "Suddenly then a God-cursed brute was creating havoc: greedy and grim, he grabbed thirty men from their resting place and rushed to his lair..."
Then Beowulf is told to have the strength of thirty men in each arm which I believe is contrasting telling us that Beowulf will beat him because he is double the strength then Grendel.

24.) Lines 273 to 278 "So tell us if what we have heard is true about this threat, whatever it is, this danger abroad in the dark nights, this corpse-maker mongering death in the Shieldings' country. I come to proffer my wholehearted help and counsel."

This is Beowulf coming and trying to come and pay off his fathers wergild to Hrothgar and to try and create a name for him self which a good warrior should do.

25.) Lines 425 to 427 " Now I mean to be a match for Grendel settle the outcome in single combat." This means that Beowulf is going to fight Grendel with no weapons fist to fist to try and make an even bigger reputation for him self.

26.) Lines 832-835 "Clear proof of this could be seen in the hand the hero displayed high up near the roof: the whole of Grendel's shoulder and arm his awesome grip."
This is telling us that they hung Grendel's arm from the roof I think it represents a trophy for  Beowulf's accomplishment for killing Grendel. Which this is also part of being a good warrior.

27.) Lines 2020 to 2025 " Sometimes Hrothgar's daughter distributed al to older ranks, in order on the benches: I heard the company call her Freawaru as she made her rounds, presenting men with the gem-studded bowl, you bride-to-be to the gracious Ingeld.
Freawaru is a peace pledge and her name means peace pledge she also a good example of the role of woman.

30.) Lines 2510 2515 " Beowulf spoke, made a formal boast for the last time: "I risked my life often when i was young. Now i am old, but as king of the people I shall pursue this fight for the glory of winning if the evil one will only abandon his earth-fort and face me in the open."
This shows us that Beowulf is a good warrior but not a good king he should have let his men fight the dragon like how Hrothgar let Beowulf fight Grendel but he wants the glory for him self. Which this leads latter to when Beowulf needs his men the most they run away unlike in the beginning when he was fighting Grendel they were trying everything they could do even though there swords didn't do anything.
