22.) Beowulf's name could mean a couple things
it could mean (be-wolf) or (bee-hunter) which is a keening for
"bear."
23.) Lines 120 to 125 "Suddenly then
a God-cursed brute was creating havoc: greedy and grim, he grabbed thirty men
from their resting place and rushed to his lair..."
Then Beowulf is told to have the strength
of thirty men in each arm which I believe is contrasting telling us that
Beowulf will beat him because he is double the strength then Grendel.
24.) Lines 273 to 278 "So tell us if
what we have heard is true about this threat, whatever it is, this danger
abroad in the dark nights, this corpse-maker mongering death in the Shieldings'
country. I come to proffer my wholehearted help and counsel."
This is Beowulf coming and trying to come
and pay off his fathers wergild to Hrothgar and to try and create a name
for him self which a good warrior should do.
